Not sure about your style yet? Interested in a certain fashion trend? Why do you often feel like having nothing to wear? Real Beauty Looks will suggest ways to determine the number of clothes you need and how to make them suitable for you every day.
Q: How many clothes do I need to own?
A: Please answer the following questions: “Is your wardrobe right for you?
E.g.: Do you?
- Open your closet and say, “I have nothing to wear.”
- Spend more than 5 minutes in the morning choosing an outfit?
- Buy extra special occasion OR everyday wear?
- Keep clothes for emotional reasons?
- Wear skinny clothes (or fat clothes) if you are thin (or gain weight)?
- Feel depressed when you get dressed?
- Have any clothes that need fixing or changing?
If you answered YES to any or all of these questions, it’s time to reassess your wardrobe! The problem is NOT that you have too many or too few clothes in your closet. It would help if you had the RIGHTÂ clothes in your closet for your CURRENT lifestyle.
Real Beauty Looks suggests a wardrobe for women who aim for an elegant, successful, but no less feminine style.
You see, whenever we change our lifestyle, our clothing needs change as well. We tend to keep those old clothes for emotional reasons or because we think we need them in the future. We also keep our clothes when we lose or gain weight. Keeping clothes unused only creates visual clutter that we have to consider everything. Fill your wardrobe with the clothes you need, feel comfortable and enjoy wearing them every day!
Q: Every time I open my wardrobe, I don’t know what to wear. I feel like I don’t have a decent outfit because everything is messed up. Is there a way to reorder?
A: Having nothing to wear is a common feeling of many women, not just you. So don’t worry too much! Just by making a few simple tweaks to your wardrobe, you can:
- Have a wardrobe full of clothes you love to wear.
- Dress up in a cute outfit in less than 5 minutes.
- Have clothes that fit you.
- Have clothes that you feel comfortable wearing.
- There is an organized closet with a place for everything.
- Get compliments every time you go out in public.
With this simple 3-step process, you’ll be able to have a closet full of clothes you love and feel comfortable in every day.Â
Step 1: Get rid of the clothes that are no longer in use
Go to your closet and remove any of the following items. You can resell, donate or repair/clean/change as needed.
- Your current clothing doesn’t fit you, including it’s too big, too small, or needs to be changed.
- Clothes that don’t fit your CURRENT lifestyle.
- Clothes you’ve never worn.
- Anything you don’t feel good about or wear well.
- Clothes are yellowed, torn, worn out.
- Things you are keeping for sentimental reasons but never wear. This includes prom dresses, first date dresses, wedding dresses, etc.
- Any clothes you haven’t worn in the past year.
It may sound a bit counter-intuitive when you’re trying to get a wardrobe working, but as you can see from the survey above, we often keep our clothes on for the wrong reason. When you get rid of the clothes you no longer use, the visual clutter in your wardrobe, we are left with a closet full of clothes we love to wear!
Step 2: Organize your wardrobe.
Now you are left with only the clothes you love and wear well. It’s time to organize them. Real Beauty Looks suggests organizing your wardrobe by category rather than by outfit. For example, you can group all your clothes like this: t-shirts, tank tops, blouses, sweaters, jeans, skirts, trousers, leggings, jackets, dresses, pajamas, socks, etc.
The reason to group your clothes by category instead of by outfit is to see your clothes as pieces that can be combined and matched rather than as outfits that can only be worn one way.
- Sort by color.
- Sort by material to see what to keep and wear this season, fold or hang on a hook.
- Use boxes or drawers to store silk underwear, towels, or clothes
- Bags and shoes should be stored in cloth bags and placed in a dry place
- Priority is given to places where basic outfits and neutral colors are easily seen
- Put the desiccant bags, moisture-proof or pleasant scents in the drawers, bag boxes for storage.
Step 3: Add matching garments
How many times have you stood in your closet and thought, if only I had one red t-shirt for this blazer and jeans? Or I would wear these shoes more often if I had a brown belt to coordinate with them. When you find these gaps in your closet, WRITE them down.
Then the next time you go clothes shopping, you’ll be more focused and restocked with needed garments to enhance your wardrobe rather than buying something that doesn’t match the clothes you already own.
Q: For men, watches are quite important to show their high status. What about women?
A: Women have a bit more luck when it comes to accessories. They have a lot of choices, from necklaces and rings to brooches or hairpins. However, investing in a quality watch is also gradually becoming a choice of many fashionistas due to the trend of borrowing from the boyfriend’s wardrobe and the need to minimize the outfit to have a classic and elegant style.

A slightly stronger “oversized” watch is often paired with a variety of bracelets or rings. Still, sometimes a simple model that is traditional but worthy of the brand will take you to the next level.
